#fauxtogram | Trinidad, California

As some of you may know, I have a bit of an unhealthy Instagram obsession. I am still convinced that Instagram is really the only reason for having a smartphone. (I suppose GPS comes in handy once in awhile.) I do acknowledge, however, that Instagram is not real photography and that some people (not me, of course) abuse it. Hence the semi-ironic, bleeding-heart hipster title of my new series, #fauxtogram. From now on, every Sunday (or most Sundays, to be realistic), I will be posting my favorite Instagram photo from the preceding week. I thought this would be a fun way to document my week — if I did a plain old “Photo of the Week” series, I’d be digging through my archives for something halfway presentable and then you all would think I was in Tahiti when actually I was just sitting in my bedroom in Ohio watching Netflix and eating popcorn balls. Not that I’ve ever been to Tahiti, and not that I eat popcorn balls, but you get the point. Instagram will keep me honest, so here we go. Oh, and don’t worry, none of that #nofilter bullshit.
